I love the summer!!

Yes i do love Florida in the summer!!
We received 1/4 inch of rain yesterday, which is good for the lawn, but i was really hoping to get some good over the water scenes but it was a chase that i lost, after work i had to pick up my boy, from place and the storm was a brewing i got some pics on the way but it was coming in fast. The water is only about mile from the house 2 from the school. Lightning was slashing down and i felt the cool outflow winds and i know the game was lost i stilled tried and made it half way before the rain caught me. there is another day.
today to be exact I'm hoping with today's 60 percent chance, it holds off till I'm ready..is that to much to ask???
I would really like to a water spout, but I'm be pushing my luck i got storms so i should be happy with that. here are the couple shots i did get before the rain, no lightning caps but cool none the less.

After the rain my boy went to play and my hubby caught this really cute shot.

The boy loves to dig!!

Anyhow, its gonna be another hot one today, and with the tropical wave pushing trough rain and thunderstorms are expected. Wahoo!!!Stay safe and and enjoy the day!!

summer clouds

Good morning!!
I feel like summer has just begun for me we had a nice afternoon fireworks yesterday, the storm was south of me but the show was fantastic and it looks like there is more to come...

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
FAIRLY DRY MID AND UPPER LEVEL AIR IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN PLACE
ACROSS THE STATE AS LOW LEVEL FLOW HAS BECOME EASTERLY KEEPING
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY MAINLY LIMITED TO COASTAL COUNTIES
THIS AFTERNOON ON THE SEABREEZE. ANY STORMS THAT DO DEVELOP WILL
CONTAIN GUSTY WINDS AND DEADLY LIGHTNING

that's what i like to hear coastal counties!!!
If anyone has tips about catching lightning i would sure appreciate it..(besides getting a new camera).

Wednesday and Thursday are looking good for a wide spread rain event, we got zero from yesterday so i am hoping with the odds looking like they do port Richy will not be over looked...

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL INCREASE MID WEEK AS MOISTURE RETURNS
AND AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVES THROUGH THE REGION IN AN
UNSTABLE ENVIRONMENT PRODUCING SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS. A RETURN TO A MORE TYPICAL SUMMERTIME PATTERN IS
EXPECTED TO SET UP LATE IN THE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND WITH
SCATTERED AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS EACH DAY. GUSTY
WINDS...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS WILL BE THE MAIN
HAZARDS EXPECTED WITH THE STORMS.

nothing going on with the tropics, will be be another bust year??? to early to tell.
I just hope i can track one this year i need experience and what better then hands on..right..
well enjoy some of the pics from yesterdays show and have a great day!!

Camel tower??

Good morning!!
How do you get it to rain???
Water the lawn!!
We have been a little lazy with watering the lawn(just doing are part to conserve water) It does seem when, we do water the lawn it rains.
last night about 11pm a nice little cell dropped some much needed perception!
It rained steady for about fifteen mins then moved south but it was so nice to listen too, we even were honored with a little thunder.
Today's chances with rain for us here off the coast is low as the low pressure weakens and the dry air follows, but as aways with the heating of the day, we have a chance of a thunder storm popping up between the boundaries.
winds are coming in NW now and will change to west in the afternoon. So it looks like a nice evening to put out the lawn chairs and admire the sunset.

I have been taking pictures through the week of the east Sky's watching CU pop up bust a cap(i love saying that)
Wednesday I took the sunset pictures, It was such a nice evening with nice west-coast breeze you could smell the salt in the air.(evenings are my favorite time of the day, i don't know what is but it makes me feel Sarene like.

I still have more research to do for the weekend forecast but from what Ive seen already i think the rain chance is low for the coast.Enjoy the pics!! And have a wonderful day!! Jess

A little preview

Coming in December at 10pm Tuesday nights on We channel, will be the reality show The twister sisters. That is the show I, yes me will be on. I have a little sample I made of the best day I had.

I had the best time ever that day and cant wait to do it again!!

Spotting in my area has been a bust, I'm seriously thinking moving to the sea breeze boundaries so i can spot some real weather...
Today is overcast with yes chances of thunderstorms, for us here on the west coast of Pasco...Good luck!!Its funny at work they say " hey weather girl bring us some rain" I tell them.. " I just try to forecast the rain i'm not God" jeese!!
I hope you enjoyed my preview,I cant wait till the show airs!!I will definitely blog any changes in times and dates!! Have a good day and may a storm find its way to you!

wasnt to far off the mark

Bored, and DTING, I need a good storm and bad....
I have been reading chasers bogs for about and hour now and all it did was make me want to see some action even more!!
I am so frustrated right now because i have so much to learn i don't know where to start!! I need a good hands on teacher..The best teachers i know live in minnesota or my Jenn who lives in Georgia. What is a girl to do....

Any way I wasn't too far off the mark the other day about rain. we did get a little of the small cell the other day but that was it!!
I don't see any thing for today here in west pasco, Damn the west coast sea breeze it just pushes everything away!!

Well I guess for now I will live my life trough the eyes of other chasers thank you guys for blogging and photographing, your my eyes to the world!! Have a good weekend and lets all pray that Jesse gets some action(storm action that is!)

Current Tampa Nexrad Radar Map : Weather Underground

Current Tampa Nexrad Radar Map : Weather Underground

I still think we won't see most of this but the cell is very impressive with two meso's riding hail is small but still i love hearing the thunder too bad i have to go to work

ok so fire me

yup that's right i am wrong!! there is a patch of storms moving in off the gulf. I thought they would move further south but hey I'm wrong which is OK because I'm learning too.....so umbrellas up its gonna rain!

not summer yet...

Well its not officially summer yet but it sure is acting like it.
Hot and muggy for west pasco we have not seen any rain sense Barry.
until last night how much??? i dunno i didn't get a new rain gauge yet...
its on my list!! My yard was nice and wet so that is a good thing.
today again the sea-breeze boundaries will see some action...
*CNTRL GULF COAST REGION WED AFTN INTO EARLY EVENING*
MOISTURE GRADIENT WILL TIGHTEN ACROSS THE CNTRL GULF COAST REGION
AND TSTMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG BOUNDARIES/SEABREEZE.
MID-LEVEL TEMPERATURES WILL BE MODESTLY COLD ATOP UPR 60S DEW
POINTS...SO STRONG STORMS MAY RESULT WITH DMGG DOWNBURST WINDS.
I just might have to go for a ride this afternoon!!!
I went to my mothers this weekend and picked up some old school cameras..35mm A-I canon with some very nice lens. do i know how to use them??? no but i will learn and i am taking advice too!!!
I still haven't received the software from my dv camcorder that i borrowed for my chasing adventure...I so want to share the videos... I am not paying for the camera until they get me the software!!!

so all in all today folks in my area I don't think we will see rain until the weekend, but this is Florida and ma nature likes to do her own thing, and i wont put my foot in my mouth by saying there is no chance in rain..
till next time...keep your eyes to the sky.....Jess

Day 2 May22, 07

Tuesday,5/22/07
11:58
Today is looking good We have 10% chance of tornadoes!! Very nice!
We are heading towards Kansas now.
1:14 heading south on 183 we have entered Kansas.I am having such a good time riding in the suburban with everyone the other guest, Heidi and Glenn are great Glenn is a riot keeping us all laughing! We passed some interesting restaurants-THE CHUBBY PICKLE-
MM sounds good huh maybe if you are a porn star...and then there is the FRISKY BRISKET. Glenn made a comment to Diane who is not to bee seen or heard on the camera but she was filming him and he asked her not to point that that thing at his chubby pickle..like i said he is full laughs.
we ate at subway, we had a little fan club! Peggy went in and gave them her card.
They couldn't keep there eyes off all the cameras.
I wish I was a great writer so i could describe the beautiful land i am seeing.
I always pictured everything flat, that is so not the case. The hills are so full of life and so intensely green. The cows sure do have it made!

4:09
The chase is on...I am so pumped up I wish we could put on some metalica!
50 miles east storms are brewing west of Hayes
Tornado watch is up!!!
4;18
RIDING ON 70 GOING WEST
three chasers vehicles just passed one said Alabama chasers man the are hauling ass!!
So are we now(still wishing for some metalica)( I kinda feel like were in the movie Twister)
we just passed marker 151 the storm has gone purple WAHOO!!
5:08We just stopped to watch the structure of the super cell we are chasing.
The Mamatas(NOT SURE IF THE SPELLING IS RIGHT) clouds are beautiful!!
scud clouds are forming under the updraft.Scud cloud just attached creating a developing wall cloud.
5:18 WE GOT ROTATION!!
We turned onto a unnamed road" BOBS ROAD" We have A tornado warning,oh man this cell is beautiful almost like a space ship coming in. I cant believe what I'm seeing the inflow winds are so strong and the sound is so Erie I LOVE IT!!!!!
Its hailing now. some are quarter size and golf ball size. Glen wanted to know what it was like to feel hail so he stepped out side, funny he wasn't getting hit until Carrol(THE SOUND GUY) came up from behind and nailed in the back...funny Glen didn't even know until he got back in the suburban and we told him..
7:04 T-TIME Oh yea we got touch down!! F&%KEn eh man!!
This is what its all about.Watching it form, touching down Melanie was jumping up and down like we were at a football game and the team she was rooting for made just won with only seconds left! Touchdown!!! I too was omging Intense!!
I am so loving this. The tornado didn't last to long. I got a kick of how many chasers there were i even saw the Doppler on wheels!
Some of the chasers I was introduced too were John Wetter, Bill Hark Dave Floyd and Jeff and Katheryn Piotrowski.
We saw an intence hail core coming are way so it was time to go the production team wanted to get some otf(ON THE FLY INTERVEIWS) so we stopped at a rest stop where i got a good look at a shelf cloud coming are way with heavy rain and hail behind it.
Peggy said we had about four minutes till arrival but i wasn't taking any chances I took a picture of the shelf cloud and got right back in the car. Heidi and Glen were doing the otf interview bit were not so lucky they got soaked we got caught in the heavy rain We couldn't even see out the car but Melonie was directing Peggy( THE TWO WORK TOGATHER AS ONE) And soon we were out of harms way!!!
9:30 As we entered back into Hayes, Kansas A tornado siren was going off! Peggy informed us that there was no tornado just strong storms with a heavy winds and hail.
We pulled into Whiskey creek restaurant and people were running out Peggy and Melonie were trying to reassure them that there was no tornado.
When we got inside the place was deserted we were like hello anyone here...Finely we got sat and our waitress was in tears and shaking again we tried reassure here she was safe and if there was one coming who better to be with then the twister sisters!!
They brought in their laptops and put on the radars but even still she came back to tell us if we wanted to go down stair we were welcome and went on to tell everybody else who is the restaurant.
What was funny was the only people left in the restaurant eating were storm chasers.
That's were I was introduced to Dean Cosgrove, Peggy told me he Does storm chasing tours and they send people to him all the time. What a job!!!
I cant believe the day i had today, In my 35 years off life this was the best!!!
I wish I could do this everyday!!
To top everything off we stayed at the hampton with the most comfortable bed ever like a giant pillow!!1I hope i dream of this day every night!! Thank you Twister sister for this day and to everybody involved big hugs and love! you have made this Florida girl so very happy!!!!!!
To be continued...next the meeting of other chasers who were with us
Brad Nelson and his girl marylynn and Bill Dom's and his nine year old son Cullen who has already seen 21 tornadoes Lucky boy.
