Link to severe weather from 2/5/08/Severe weather for Florida Today

PEGGY WILLENBERG of the Twister sisters sent me a really cool link on the storms of February 5th 2008. It shows what happened how it happen and you can read about the long track tornado that caused so much devastation.

In the picture: A tornado rated EF4 tracked through portions of Yell, Pope, Conway, Van Buren, Stone and Sharp Counties on 02/05/2008.
Today we have some interesting weather going on for our state thanks to a low in the gulf and an approaching cold front.

This is what my sky looks like:

TWO WEATHER SYSTEMS HAVE THEIR SIGHTS SET ON THE
WEST COAST OF FLORIDA. AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OVER THE GULF OF
MEXICO NEAR 90W IS EXPECTED TO INITIATE A PERIOD OF THUNDERSTORMS
THIS EVENING AND INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WEDNESDAY.

You can click on any part of the discussion above to read it in its entirety.
The southeast part of Florida is where there saying most of the severe weather will take place with a 10% chance of tornadoes. Even so everyone should keep an eye on the weather tonight. Stay tuned for updates.

we might see some rain tonight/so they say....

...THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA LATE
TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY. AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS AREAS NORTH OF TAMPA BAY
OVERNIGHT...THEN ACROSS THE TAMPA BAY AND ADJACENT AREAS EARLY
FRIDAY MORNINGS. ALTHOUGH THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL BE
ISOLATED...ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO FORM WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING BRIEF STRONG WIND GUSTS.
but no naders, darn.
Its another night event anyways and i don't chase at night.
At the beginning of the week it was forecasted to be cold on Christmas, now that has all changed the cold front will dissipate before reaching us here in sunny Florida.
With only a 20% pops and a high of 73 it looks to be quite a beautiful day. Personally I would like it to be cold for Christmas. That's the only time I like it cold. Anyhow I re watched the Twister sister show and you know what? They did a damn good job making this series interesting and I swear Cullen just keeps getting cuter every time I watch it! I'm looking forward to next weeks and of course I cant wait to watch Dewdrops episode Jan.8th!!
well thats it for now have a great day!

Thoughts on the show

It was good, I am gonna have to say i am a little disappointed they didn't show more coverage of may 22, the hail, the birth of the super-cell and the sound of the inflow.
I have all the footage, thank GOD.
It is only what is a reality show, they wanted drama, which they got with Bill and Cullen. Them two could do their own show, I watch it! What a team them two make!!!
I would still do it all over again, just to be back in tornado ally.
If you want the real version of my best day just click here and here
All in all I think they did a good show, I realy enjoyed being out there. Brad and Maryanne and Bill and Cullen never made me feel like I was just a guest but a chaser and Peggy and Melanie The brightest Woman I have ever met let me be there student and the crew well they made me feel like a star.
Let me know what you thought if you saw the show.
Have a great day!

cold front approaching/no change in day time highs

Weakening cold front approaches, but chance of rain with its is vertically Nil.
We might seem some very light showers if any at all.
Also temps will NOT be affected by this at all. Clouds will remain today so it wont feel as hot as yesterday. As the front moves south slowly losing its identity. high pressure will bridge across the boundary and winds will turn north and northeast by tonight.

coming back from dropping my son off this morning I watch as the front moved in. To the untrained eye you think it was gonna rain or maybe even storm.

I loving knowing whats really going on!!
Rain chances for the week are very low with day times high higher then normal.
The weekend for now looks too be quite beautiful with highs in the lower 80's.
The next fronts looks to be coming in next Monday but for right now I don't know if it will make this far south.

Bill Doms has some new promos for the up coming Twister sisters show on his blog, check it out Plus his blog Great sky of the north is very interesting to read! Another great weather blog is dewdrop's
blog "Flight of the South Georgia storm chaser".
For me it's off to work have a great week!!!

Rain? Thanksgiving? could be

Chances are, it will rain here on thanksgiving day I'm hoping we are not to far south but it looks like conditions could be just right for some percep. I just want some water for my trees and shrubs. I gave up on the lawn.
The cool front moving in Thursday evening will bring our temps down but not by much.
Its not gonna be extreme and its not gonna last from what im reading its gonna reach south Florida and Come back north as a warm front. Interesting...
AT THE SURFACE THE COOL FRONT
ACROSS SOUTH FLORIDA WILL MOVE NORTH AS A WARM FRONT SATURDAY
Lots to learn I cant wait to read a weather discussion and understand all of it!

So... The Twister Sisters Show has its own website now, very exciting! (Just click on Twister Sisters for the link)
I made a promo and not just my voice It was quick but you see me. Dew too just before me she looked Blissful like me!
I can't believe it has already been 6 months, It all seems like yesterday too me.
Then again I do keep re watching my videos over and over again.

I hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving as for me I have a lot To be Thankful for! And very Thankful I am!!!

twister sister episode list

It seems today's yummy weather is going to be to the south and east today as the frontal boundary moves across the state. Yesterday morning I was awoken to loud claps of thunder so I did what every weather weenie would do I got up and went to the computer to check out the situation and low and behold my countie was tornado warned. Dewdrop tested me to warn me( and did a special blog just for me,go check it out she has a nice visual of the supercell that went right over me on radar)I thought for sure we had a touch down but the weather channel is calling it a funnel.

Twister Sisters

Airing in the early fall
on WE: Women's Entertainment
Twister Sisters
Tornadoes are nature’s most violent and destructive atmospheric phenomenon. About a thousand of them touch down in the United States each year, a huge percentage of them in a region known as “Tornado Alley.” Peggy Willenberg and Melanie Metz are partners in the Twister Sisters tornado tour company, which they have owned and operated for the past five years. Every May the two women kiss their husbands and families goodbye and head out on the road for their annual pilgrimage across the Great Plains, in search of the biggest and baddest twisters around.

This the link to future shows comin up with original productions, The production team Dew and I were lucky enough to work with.

Day 2 May22, 07

Tuesday,5/22/07
11:58
Today is looking good We have 10% chance of tornadoes!! Very nice!
We are heading towards Kansas now.
1:14 heading south on 183 we have entered Kansas.I am having such a good time riding in the suburban with everyone the other guest, Heidi and Glenn are great Glenn is a riot keeping us all laughing! We passed some interesting restaurants-THE CHUBBY PICKLE-
MM sounds good huh maybe if you are a porn star...and then there is the FRISKY BRISKET. Glenn made a comment to Diane who is not to bee seen or heard on the camera but she was filming him and he asked her not to point that that thing at his chubby pickle..like i said he is full laughs.
we ate at subway, we had a little fan club! Peggy went in and gave them her card.
They couldn't keep there eyes off all the cameras.
I wish I was a great writer so i could describe the beautiful land i am seeing.
I always pictured everything flat, that is so not the case. The hills are so full of life and so intensely green. The cows sure do have it made!

4:09
The chase is on...I am so pumped up I wish we could put on some metalica!
50 miles east storms are brewing west of Hayes
Tornado watch is up!!!
4;18
RIDING ON 70 GOING WEST
three chasers vehicles just passed one said Alabama chasers man the are hauling ass!!
So are we now(still wishing for some metalica)( I kinda feel like were in the movie Twister)
we just passed marker 151 the storm has gone purple WAHOO!!
5:08We just stopped to watch the structure of the super cell we are chasing.
The Mamatas(NOT SURE IF THE SPELLING IS RIGHT) clouds are beautiful!!
scud clouds are forming under the updraft.Scud cloud just attached creating a developing wall cloud.
5:18 WE GOT ROTATION!!
We turned onto a unnamed road" BOBS ROAD" We have A tornado warning,oh man this cell is beautiful almost like a space ship coming in. I cant believe what I'm seeing the inflow winds are so strong and the sound is so Erie I LOVE IT!!!!!
Its hailing now. some are quarter size and golf ball size. Glen wanted to know what it was like to feel hail so he stepped out side, funny he wasn't getting hit until Carrol(THE SOUND GUY) came up from behind and nailed in the back...funny Glen didn't even know until he got back in the suburban and we told him..
7:04 T-TIME Oh yea we got touch down!! F&%KEn eh man!!
This is what its all about.Watching it form, touching down Melanie was jumping up and down like we were at a football game and the team she was rooting for made just won with only seconds left! Touchdown!!! I too was omging Intense!!
I am so loving this. The tornado didn't last to long. I got a kick of how many chasers there were i even saw the Doppler on wheels!
Some of the chasers I was introduced too were John Wetter, Bill Hark Dave Floyd and Jeff and Katheryn Piotrowski.
We saw an intence hail core coming are way so it was time to go the production team wanted to get some otf(ON THE FLY INTERVEIWS) so we stopped at a rest stop where i got a good look at a shelf cloud coming are way with heavy rain and hail behind it.
Peggy said we had about four minutes till arrival but i wasn't taking any chances I took a picture of the shelf cloud and got right back in the car. Heidi and Glen were doing the otf interview bit were not so lucky they got soaked we got caught in the heavy rain We couldn't even see out the car but Melonie was directing Peggy( THE TWO WORK TOGATHER AS ONE) And soon we were out of harms way!!!
9:30 As we entered back into Hayes, Kansas A tornado siren was going off! Peggy informed us that there was no tornado just strong storms with a heavy winds and hail.
We pulled into Whiskey creek restaurant and people were running out Peggy and Melonie were trying to reassure them that there was no tornado.
When we got inside the place was deserted we were like hello anyone here...Finely we got sat and our waitress was in tears and shaking again we tried reassure here she was safe and if there was one coming who better to be with then the twister sisters!!
They brought in their laptops and put on the radars but even still she came back to tell us if we wanted to go down stair we were welcome and went on to tell everybody else who is the restaurant.
What was funny was the only people left in the restaurant eating were storm chasers.
That's were I was introduced to Dean Cosgrove, Peggy told me he Does storm chasing tours and they send people to him all the time. What a job!!!
I cant believe the day i had today, In my 35 years off life this was the best!!!
I wish I could do this everyday!!
To top everything off we stayed at the hampton with the most comfortable bed ever like a giant pillow!!1I hope i dream of this day every night!! Thank you Twister sister for this day and to everybody involved big hugs and love! you have made this Florida girl so very happy!!!!!!
To be continued...next the meeting of other chasers who were with us
Brad Nelson and his girl marylynn and Bill Dom's and his nine year old son Cullen who has already seen 21 tornadoes Lucky boy.

MAy 20and 21st

MARCH 20,2007
Sunday Morning 5;30 we set out for the airport I'm so exited I know I must be forgetting something, Also I only slept for 2hrs but we go the air is a little chilly thank goodness because it was my jacket i forgot. Off we go, me with a full buzz of pure excitement.

We arrived in Sioux falls South Dakota around 3:30 checked then grabbed a bite to eat.I headed up to my room and waited for a call, when it came i was told i was free for dinner and would meet everyone in the morning. I decided to sleep so i could be well rested for the morning.
MARCH 21,2007

11am I sneaked over to the chase vehicle and introduced myself to Peggy one of the twister sisters.I know instantly that i was gonna like here She asked about my tattoos and should me hers then We talked about our animals(Shane gave me an inside scoop that she owned allot of animals like me) She instantly made me feel at ease and looking more forward to the days ahead.

Today is basically a positioning day I don't relay expect to see much, But I still have my eyes pasted to the window taking in everything I see.
I saw some (NEW WORD NOT SURE I'M SPELLING IT RIGHT) Virdga- rain falling from the clouds but not reaching the ground.
Nothing else the day was considered a bust for most, but to me it was very exhilarating to travel 348 mile in one day we reached Kearey Nebraska @ 10:18 pm
