Florida winter

It does get cold in Florida it just doesn't last for long.
We are going to get back up to the higher 70's by Wednesday and it looks to stick around for the weekend. Very nice.
I took a picture of the full moon last week and so far it is the best image i took.

SDS is hitting me pretty hard right now I have been reading weather blogs and watching videos of last years season and I think it is making it worse.
I will be watching Thursday for a chance of severe weather in the deep south. (Florida is not considered the deep south for some reason, even know were are as far south as you can get)
But I will still watch as this system progresses and hope there is enough instability to flare up some supercells at the same time praying that nothing happens in suburban areas. Sometimes its hard to want something to happen that might hurt or destroy peoples life. I cant change what I love, or who I am for that matter.
anyway nothing severe this week for us here in sunny Ha ha its warm here Florida this week, just remember to keep those eyes to the sky even its blue, it still holds its own beauty.

front sitting right on top of us

Fog this morning

Sometimes area discussions crack me up I'm reading it this morning while looking outside and as u could plainly see we have some fog going on. Read this:
.UPDATE...DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND ADD IN SOME FOG TO THE NORTHERN
WATERS THIS MORNING...

Well I'm glad he decided to add that other wise i might have thought i was seeing things. lol
Yesterday's forecast did a 180 with the pops chances...MODELS HAVE ALMOST COMPLETELY
DONE A 180 WITH REGARDS TO GUIDANCE. NOW THE MAV HAS GONE FROM
8-10 PERCENT POPS IN IT`S LAST TWO RUNS OVER TAMPA UP TO 80
PERCENT FOR TONIGHT! We saw that with last nights blog. Rain totals as promised, Thanks to my good friend Dew and her awesome birthday gift.

I know the image stinks but My camera well you know if u have read my blogs.
Rain was consistent through out the night and as u can see from the top picture clouds have consumed the sky.
By this afternoon most of the fog should lift. we are expected to have mostly cloudy skies for the day. The upper level disturbance that moved over our viewing area last night is now located in the middle of our state.
They still have a slight pops for our area but i think the seabreeze will keep any rain that is produced from the daytime heating in the south. Yea i know i said that yesterday but models change things happen and when they do i will be right on top of it. Plus I am no meteorologist....yet.
Now on to the cold front pushing in.

There is a strong cold front pushing in from the Mississippi Vally and with high pressure behind it fueling it we should start feeling a difference in the air tomorrow and definitely by Friday, with temps reaching to the 30's or 40's depending where you are. BRRRR well from a Floridans point of view. I will no more as the day goes by.
until the next blog have a wonderful day!!!

A rumble of thunder

An area of rain is moving north just off our coast. If it wasn't so overcast i would be siting by the water and enjoying the show. I can here the thunder in the distance, I love this state!
Humidity right now is at 92% and the dew point is 65.4 Wind is from the ENE we should get some rain from this.
Lott's of lightning with this.. Beautiful! I wish I could share but the quality would be very poor!
Nothing severe with this if u live in the northern counties you might get up 1.50 inches of rain and be careful of cloud to ground lightning.
I am going back outside and enjoy some more of ma nature good night and be safe!

Its a beautiful day in the neigborhood

Check out the barometric pressure at the time of the storm, these measurements were taken at Brasher park where they have a weather station. The winds were not as strong there as they were here and other locations. I have heard all sorts of storeys.

Gasprella parade was canceled
Bay news 9 had a story. There was little to report and If tornadoes did touch down they were weak and brief.

For today there is a high pressure centered over the mid Atlantic states and is covering most of the eastern third of are country. A ridge is forecasted to move across our state Tuesday. Wednesday it looks like a week frontal boundary will move in, not nearly as strong as the last keeping our temps moderate. They show light pops with it but it focuses mainly on the south west.
Oh well It doesn't look good for anymore severe weather this week, I will just have to re watch my video to help with any wx blues.
That's for me now have a good Monday!

Just what the doctor ordered

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) — The National Weather Service says tornadoes touched down in two locations along the west coast of Florida on Saturday, causing some damage but no injuries. Meteorologist Mike Cantin says a tornado touched down at 5:26 p.m. in New Port Richey. It felled some streets signs and trees. Cantin says there were no reports of injuries. The second tornado touched down in west Hernando County at 5:45 p.m. The extent of damage, if any, wasn't immediately known.
I didn't see a funnel but the sky was amazing, I so needed this! I wish I had a better camera to share my experience with you! The gust was strong I don't have an anemometer(Its on my wants list and after today it just got push up, right after a tripod.) Anyway the wind was crazy it seem to come from everywhere. My husband was getting nervous it was lightning and I'm in the middle of the driveway taping and after the last lightning jolt i agreed to come in my body was shaking to hard to hold the camera. That's why I need a tripod even with my crappy camera! I received 1.48 inches of rain I don't know if the video is gonna work on this, if not i will post tomorrow. We had a some wind damage my neighbor's dead kumquat tree snapped there were garbage cans flying everywhere and we received 1.48 inches of rain all all a nice cure for the wx blues.
Pardon my swears in the video i was a bit excited.
