Mild cold front coming in

Beautiful sunrise this morning. Isn't it said if the morning is red sailors dred?
Well shortly after the sunrise the sky became overcast and light precept started falling. There is a mild cold front coming in nothing to severe temp wise, and weather wise.

Winds are still coming in from the south but once this front moves across winds will change and come from the north. The difference will be at night, with temps dropping into the high 40's to lower 50's depending on where you are. Daytime temps will be just a little bit cooler.
There is a slight risk of severe weather for the folks on the east coast of our country( eastern Carolina's has a 2% chance of tornadoes) but that's about it.
SDS at this time of year is strong with all of us weather geeks.
Come on spring!!!
Tomorrow looks to be a perfect outside day!

smokey morning

A north wind is bringing smoky conditions due to wildfires burning in northern Florida and southern Georgia. Breezy conditions today,

If you suffer for respiratory ailments, plan on staying indoors today, as that smoke from fires to our north will continue to blow in. Winds will slowly shift tomorrow, a bit, from the West, and may bring some relief.

pee you that's what I got to say!! The smell of the smoke is nauseating.
of course I had the house opened up this morning because it was so nice last night.
now what do I do. close up and turn the air on or suffer????
suffer of course.

On a different note: I took my skywarn quiz, I know I aced it, it was easy cheesy.
All basic knowledge, I am going to hook up with more online classes to learn as much as I can I'm also thinking about going back to school to get a bachelor degree in science.
If I want it it will happen!!!
I just can't believe i waited so long to make a decision, its just school was always very hard on me, I was in special classes due to mental handicap called sld-specific learning disability-
My husband told me to stop letting it put a wedge between my dreams, if I want It will happen!! I love that man!!He is so right!! There is help out there for me and darn it I'm gonna make my dream happen!!!

Softball (4.5 inches) sized hail was reported in Lake Wales, Florida on March 30, 1996.
Haildrifts, up to four feet deep of dime to nickel sized hail, occurred in low-lying areas near Zephyrhills, Florida on January 29, 1997.
Hailstones the size of softballs can fall at speeds faster than 100 mph

Supercells derive their rotation through tilting of horizontal vorticity (an invisible horizontal vortex) caused by wind shear. Strong updrafts lift the air turning about a horizontal axis and cause this air to turn about a vertical axis. This forms the deep rotating updraft, the mesocyclone.
A cap or capping inversion is usually required to form a downdraft of sufficient strength. The cap puts an inverted (warm-above-cold) layer above a normal (cold-above-warm) boundary layer, and by preventing warm surface air from sinking too far, allows one or both of the following:
Air below the cap warms and/or becomes more moist
Air above the cap cools
This creates a warmer, moister layer below a cooler layer, which is increasingly unstable (because warm air is less dense and tends to rise). When the cap weakens or moves, explosive development follows.
In North America, supercells usually show up on Doppler radar as starting at a point or hook shape on the southwestern side, fanning out to the northeast. The heaviest precipitation is usually on the southwest side, ending abruptly short of the rain-free updraft base or main updraft (not visible to radar). The rear flank downdraft, or RFD, carries precipitation counterclockwise around the north and northwest side of the updraft base, producing a "hook echo" that indicates the presence of a mesocyclone.
